The The Bakers Dozen Regis TAP

(Tour And Picnic)

Raising funds for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance

Sunday 3rd September 2023

Bognor Regis Motor Club are delighted to announce that the entry is now open for this year’s Regis TAP and already places have been reserved.

However, we are now able to open the Reserve list and having spoken to our venues we are now able to increase the entry by 5 more cars to 90 with 5 reserves (these will be offered places on a strictly first come first served basis).

The start will be returning again to the fabulous venue of Great Ballard School at Eartham, courtesy of Mrs Sue Jay, with breakfast butties and coffee/tea plus the collection of roadbooks

Another fabulous selection of venues has been found for this year including a very special exclusive visit to The Garden at The Down House, Itchen Abbas (normally only open through the National Garden Scheme who are fundraising for Nursing and Health Care Charities). Created by Mark & Jackie Porter over the past 20 years, their beautiful garden is divided into “rooms” and is very enjoyable to wander around. They have a meadow for parking and picnics and dogs are also most welcome.

At each of the previous Regis TAP we have tried to include exclusive venues and places of interest, especially with a motoring slant. This year Ali makes no apology for returning to Jim Stokes Workshops at Waterlooville, always a real hit for all Petrolheads and a rare chance to look around this amazing facility specialising in pre 1960 mainly Italian historic racing cars like Alfa Romeo and Ferrari. However, their talents include a full Engine Shop that actually creates components as well as engine rebuilding. For those interested in the technical side of racing competition this is a sight to see! Tea and cake will be included here.

The finish will be a return to The Tithe Barn, Old Ditcham Park south of Petersfield where a Meat Roast will be available.

The entry fee will be held at £125.00 for a crew of 2 to include: Breakfast butties, coffee & tea, Roadbook, Rally plates and stickers, entry to The Down House Gardens where you bring your own picnic. Visit to Jim Stokes Workshops with tea & cake. Meat roast at the Tithe Barn – Bring your own drinks.

£12.50pp from every entry will be donated to Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance plus a small donation to Sussex Wildlife Trust. BRMC prides itself on having a very friendly, professional and experienced team of marshals to look after everyone on the event.

Additional crew members to the number of seats in the vehicle are £62.50 pp (this includes £12.50 donation). The event will also send a donation to Sussex Wildlife Trust to help to replant the Kelp Forests off the Sussex Coast and assist in mitigating are carbon emissions during the tour.

The whole tour will cover about 100 miles of West Sussex & Hampshire Countryside using a comprehensive Tulip Roadbook. There is no requirement for a competition licence as there is no element of competition and the entry is open to classics registered before 31.12.95.Entries from “Interesting Future Classics” will be considered on application to the Entries Secretary Jill Collings – see Regulations on the website.

After managing to organise 3 Classic Tours during the Covid Pandemic, BRMC feels that they have the experience to run a safe and secure and enjoyable event. Hopefully the pandemic is something resigned to our past to be lived with in the future.

You do not need to be a member of any Motor or Marque Club or hold a Competition Licence to enter but it is wise to check with your insurance company to ensure you are covered to participate in Scenic Tours, with no competitive element. You car must have a MOT and Car tax, if required by law and all drivers must hold a full UK driving licence to enter.

Online entry will be via and full prepayment will be required to secure your place. However up until 14th August when the entry officially closes you may cancel your entry but £25 will be retained for the Air Ambulance plus a further £5 for Club funds.

There will be a raffle at the finish to raise further funds and anyone having unwanted Spirits/Wine or Motor related items/tickets they would like to donate please contact

Over £50,000 has now been raised from the previous 12 annual TAP Tours and the Club appreciate all the ongoing support they receive every year from their Sponsors and Advertisers plus their loyal and regular participants.
